As the PGL Copenhagen Major 2024 approaches near, teams are beginning to reserve their spots for the $1.25 million USD world championship.

With only 24 spots available, the competition is becoming fierce and some elite teams may not be able to participate in the first Major of the year.

There are 16 players from Europe, 5 from North and South America, and 2 from Asia-Pacific total in the tournament, which automatically raises the bar for all regional qualifiers.

These are all of the best Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) teams that were not be able to secure a spot for their team at the PGL Copenhagen Major in 2024.

PGL Copenhagen Major 2024: Every Elite CS2 Teams That Didn’t Make It

No team will receive a direct invitation slot to PGL Copenhagen Major 2024; instead of that, they must place through one of the five RMR (Regional Major Ranking) qualifiers in order to compete in the world championship.

  1. European RMR A | 8 Slots
  2. European RMR B | 8 Slots
  3. European RMR Decider | 1 Slot
  4. American RMR | 5 Slots
  5. Asia-Pacific RMR | 2 Slots

This takes the competition to a whole new level, so eventually some of the best teams they will lose out on the chance to travel to Denmark and compete for the championship.

European RMR A

Top-notch action against some of the top CS2 teams took place in the first regional qualifying tournament for Europe. Nevertheless, a few bright competitors were not be able to make it to the championship match.

Fnatic | 9th-11th Finish

Despite having a long history in Counter-Strike, Fnatic, one of the most largest esports organizations worldwide, fell short of expectations in the European qualifier.

Fnatic had three losses against Virtus.pro, KOI, and SAW and two victories against BetBoom Team and AMKAL Esports. As a result, it was given a chance to compete in Copenhagen and secured a spot in the final decider, which it lost.

Ninjas in Pyjamas | 15th-16th Finish

Among the most illustrious esports companies, Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP), have a very poor performance in the qualifier, particularly in Counter-Strike where they have a very rich and illustrious history.

NIP was forced to leave the tournament early after losing three straight games against SAW, AMKAL ESPORTS, and Eternal Fire.

Team Falcons | 12th-14th Finish

Team Falcons, one of the stronger teams heading into 2024, had an incredible run at the just finished IEM Katowice 2024, which only contributed to its unexpected elimination from the qualifier.

Falcons surprised the community by being eliminated after three straight losses to FaZe Clan, Eternal Fire, and AMKAL ESPORTS. The team had started the season strong with a victory over 3DMAX.

European RMR B

There was a lot of exciting action during the second regional qualifier for Europe as some of the top CS2 teams faced off. A few elite competitors were left behind after the dust settled because they were unable to advance to the main tournament.

Astralis | 9th-11th Finish

Astralis, the most productive and reliable Counter-Strike squad in recent times, has undoubtedly fallen from grace and is still having trouble qualifying for the main tournament.

Astralis prevailed over Nexus Gaming and Monte, but ultimately fell short against Heroic, Team Spirit, and ENCE.

The team was given another chance to advance by taking part in the championship bracket, despite the outcome. Sadly, this was insufficient because it lost the first game and was knocked out of the qualifiers.

OG | 12th-14th Finish

One of the top esports organizations in the world, OG, was unable to qualify for the main tournament following its dismal performance during the European qualifier.

OG has been out of form for quite sometime now and its recent showing followed that trend as it lost to Apeks, ECSTATIC, and GamerLegion, on its way out of the tournament.

Monte | 12th-14th Finish

In recent years, the Ukrainian esports organization has been steadily rising through the ranks to establish itself as a legitimate contender in competitive Counter-Strike.

The team had high expectations to advance past the regional qualifier, but sadly, three straight losses to ECSTATIC, Apeks, and Astralis ended their hopes of competing on the main stage.
