Rivalry, an esports betting platform, and Mohan Govindasamy, a renowned Counter-Strike commentator, have announced the launch of a second Counter-Strike 2 LAN tournament.
Known as the Launders LAN, the event will take place from April 20th to the 21st at The Warehouse located in downtown Toronto Canada.
Rivalry is hosting Launders LAN, a sequel to FragFest, their first Counter-Strike 2 LAN tournament. This expanded event will include 32 teams competing for a $10,000 Canadian dollar (approximately £5,841) prize pool.
In addition to more teams and a larger prize pool, the event will offer various on-site activities, including exclusive merchandise for purchase and contests for attendees.
In April 2023, Rivalry joined forces with commentator Launders. Their collaboration focuses on connecting with Toronto-area esports enthusiasts. Through live events and engaging online content, they aim to cater to the interests of fans. Notably, an event called FragFest garnered over 300,000 views on social media platforms.
Esports events hosted by bookmakers are becoming increasingly popular. Companies such as Thunderpick, Pinnacle, and Roobet have joined Rivalry in organizing events directly for their customers and esports enthusiasts.
Britt Doll, the Marketing Director of Rivalry in Canada, praised the success of FragFest. She emphasized that the tournament, featuring the game Counter-Strike 2, attracted over 200 attendees in Toronto and established a high standard for creator-driven gaming competitions.
“Rivalry is dedicated to providing support and empowerment to its partners and communities, as evidenced by our ongoing collaboration with Launders.”
