Four the highest quality international Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) teams have confirmed their participation in the Skyesport Masters 2024 LAN tournament in India, according to Skyesports, a well-known Indian esports organizer.
Teams for example ENCE, BIG, Team Liquid, Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP), and others will compete in the tournament for a sizable $350,000 USD (roughly INR 2.90 crores) in prize worth.
The location of the seven-day event, that is expected to take place from April 8–14, will soon be revealed. Four more teams have not yet been decided upon for the team list, additionally to the particular four invites from internationally.
Liquid, NIP, BIG, and ENCE are the first four international people invited for the 2024 Skyesports Masters.
Last year, Skyesports Masters emerged as an esports tournament exclusively for Indian teams. It comprised a regular season, culminating in a LAN final held at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru, India.
Gods Reign triumphed as champions witnessed by a live crowd. Now, the team embarks on a quest to qualify for the main event once more, determined to retain their title.
Team Liquid, a renowned global esports team, has had a successful year with its revamped Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) roster. The team has secured entry into several major international tournaments so far in 2024, demonstrating their competitive edge and promise for continued success.
NIP’s performance in 2024 has been dismal, resulting in only two players remaining in the active roster. The team benched the rest of its players after their failed attempt to secure a spot at the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024.
BIG is a long-established German esport team that has competed in Counter-Strike for the past eight years. Despite a challenging start to 2024, this tournament offers an opportunity for BIG to revitalize it fortunes and regain its former glory.
ENCE is satisfied with its recent performances but aspires for victory. Having secured a spot in the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, the team exudes confidence and plans to maintain its high spirits throughout the competition.
Skiesports Masters 2024 will overlap with IEM Chengdu 2024, taking place from April 8th to 14th. However, this overlap has presented a unique opportunity: Skiesports Masters can extend invitations to international teams who were unable to participate in IEM Chengdu, creating a situation in which both events can benefit.
In addition to the previously selected teams, four additional teams will be added: two direct invitations and one qualifier each from Europe and India.
