In Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), hacking has been a persistent problem. To combat this, Krafton and tournament organizers have implemented stringent measures. They record players’ gameplay footage (POV) and utilize anti-cheat systems to deter any form of cheating or unethical behavior during tournaments.
In a recent video, esports player Snehil “Snehilop” Saxena exposed a team participating in prominent Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023 events for using illegal hacks. He also accused one of their players of distributing these hacks.
Saikat a player for Team Together Esports, is allegedly selling hacks, according to Snehilop
Youtuber Snehilop, known for uncovering hackers in BGMI esports, recently accused a player named Saikat and his team, Team Together Esports (TTE), of using hacks in major BGMI events like BGIS 2023. Snehilop alleges that TTE members have avoided detection in the past by using multiple devices.
According to Snehil, players avoided detection during device checks by carrying two devices: a “clean” device without hacks and a “jailbroken” device with hacks. When requested by tournament organizers to check their devices, the players would use AirDrop to transfer their gameplay footage from the hacked device to the clean device, thus concealing any signs of hacks.
Snehil presented several screenshots from a chat conversation between Saikat, the accused player, and another player. In these screenshots, Saikat attempted to sell cheating tools for the game BGMI to another player. The screenshots also detailed the prices of these tools.
Snehil emphasized that the ultimate aim for aspiring players and teams is to utilize hacks in online qualifying rounds, qualify for LAN events, and showcase their skills on stage. This strategy aims to attract the attention of Tier 1 BGMI organizations and secure potential contracts.
Prior to this incident, Snehil has previously brought to light similar cases of misconduct. In 2023, he uncovered multiple teams employing hacks in the BGIS 2023 event, leading to the disqualification of one team by Krafton for engaging in unfair practices.
