After being released from prison, mob boss Dwight “The General” Manfredi goes into exile in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he builds a new criminal empire with a group of unusual characters. The opening credits show various photographic and painted views, as well as Oklahoma landmarks, superimposed on the New York landscape: a statue of the Sioux Indian chief “Touch the Clouds” wearing a military headdress and a bone choker (breastplate) atop the Brooklyn Bridge; The statue of the golden driller, installed on the Statue of Liberty; The West Gate Arch on Highway 66, set on the main “avenue” of Manhattan. In New York, in the Manhattan area, there are several numbered “avenues” that intersect with smaller, numbered streets. I don’t think any other actor could play this role.
His secondary cast is nameless, I didn’t recognize the other actors
Sly is bigger than the small screen and has been given the best lines on this show. I’ve only seen episode 1 on YT, I don’t have Paramount, but if there’s more on YT, I’ll definitely watch it. And filming in Tulsa gives the show a “spiciness” compared to filming on location in Hollywood.
He is getting old
I think Stallone peaked with the Creed movies and this TV show. I’m glad he moved away from these militants, which I think he’s outgrown. That’s what he needs..
