Hippo explores the coming of age of two stepsisters: Hippo, a teenager addicted to video games, and Boglárka, a Hungarian Catholic immigrant who loves classical music and Jesus. Like the ancient Greek Aphrodite, Buttercup’s love is not reciprocated by a brother who prefers to devote himself to the art of war and chaos. The result is a hormone-fueled, tragicomic waking nightmare that has to be seen to be believed.
